Mie-Yun Lee
President and Founder
Mie-Yun Lee is the President and founder of BuyerZone, a leading online service provider that connects buyers and sellers. The company was acquired by Reed Business Information in 2007.
Mie-Yun, who started BuyerZone in 1992, has received multiple accolades recognizing her achievements as an Internet pioneer. She was named one of the Top 25 Women on the Web, as well as one of 11 ''Women to Watch'' in business-to-business media. Other awards include an Asian Women in Business Entrepreneurial Achievement Award, and recognition as a regional winner of the Working Woman Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.
In addition, Mie-Yun is widely recognized as an expert on purchasing. She authored the nationally syndicated "Savvy Business Shopper" column, and her articles have appeared in business magazines such as BusinessWeek, Entrepreneur, and dozens of business journals nationwide. She is also a co-author of the book The Essential Business Buyer's Guide.
Mie-Yun sits on the U.S. management board of Reed Business Information. Prior to starting BuyerZone, Mie-Yun held strategic consulting and entrepreneurial positions at Corporate Decisions, Inc., a Boston-based strategy consulting firm that is now part of Oliver Wyman. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University.
Aaron Bailey
Vice President, Finance and Operations
As Vice President of Finance and Operations, Aaron manages all finance-related transactions and contract negotiations for BuyerZone, in addition to serving as a key business advisor to BuyerZone's President and Founder, Mie-Yun Lee.
Prior to joining BuyerZone, Aaron worked in the Corporate Division of Reed Business Information - US, serving as Director of Corporate & Real Estate Finance. In this role, he was responsible for effectively budgeting, forecasting and managing all Corporate G&A costs. He was also responsible for all financial matters relating to RBI's real estate holdings; both owned properties and all lease/sublease transactions.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley College.
Anne Kelly
Vice President, Sales
As Vice President, Sales, Anne is responsible for leading both the US and UK sales organizations at BuyerZone - driving its acquisition strategy and further developing the client experience for its network of 8,500+ suppliers.
Anne comes to BuyerZone with more than 20 years experience spanning direct sales, inside sales, channel sales, customer relationship management, services and marketing. Most recently, she served as Vice President, North American Sales and Marketing at iET Solutions. She has also held multiple, senior level sales positions at top technology companies in the Boston area, including Infocrossing (Wipro), Cognos (IBM), Servicesoft (Kana Software), Intel, and Bull Information Systems.
Anne graduated magna cum laude from Trinity College in Washington, DC, with a BA in Economics. She holds an MBA from Babson College.
W. Brian Seymour
Vice President, Technology
As Vice President of Technology, Brian is responsible for leading all web development, engineering, and network operations for BuyerZone.
Brian has over 20 years of successfully building and managing development teams producing innovative applications and web products. Prior to joining BuyerZone, he served as COO, responsible for all company operations, prior to becoming CTO at TechOnLine. As CTO, he led all website development and developed other patented web products, and was part of the management team that led the company to its successful acquisition.
Brian also worked at Sanders, A Lockheed Martin Company, where he was Advanced Technology Software Director. In this role he was responsible for the creation of a web infrastructure and several pioneering projects. Brian has also held positions at TRW, a large Aerospace company, and Ampersand Inc. At Ampersand, Brian was the Director of Advanced Development.
Brian graduated with honors from Western Michigan University with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Josh Hale
Vice President, Product Development & User Experience
As VP, Product Development & User Experience, Josh is responsible for the process that brings together the interests of customers, business owners and technical staff in order to deliver great products for the company.
Josh has spent over 10 years at BuyerZone in a variety of roles. Prior to his current position, Josh was responsible for managing the web development, product development and search engine optimization functions at the company. As head of SEO, Josh consistently grew BuyerZone’s organic search revenue by double digit margins, combining a focus on staying abreast of industry trends with a methodical test, measure and report discipline. After the company was acquired by Reed Business Information in 2007, Josh spent a year as an internal consultant within RBI helping develop online growth strategies for several of its publications, including Variety.
Josh holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College.
Steve Gottlieb
Vice President, RFQ Product Management
As Vice President, RFQ Product Management, Steve is responsible for BuyerZone's Request for Quotes product offering in both the US and UK, overseeing lead quality, customer satisfaction and new category development.
Steve joined BuyerZone in 2004 as a Category Manager and soon advanced to Director of Category Management where he led one of three business units dedicated to the development of BuyerZone's key vertical industries, with a heavy emphasis on managing and optimizing BuyerZone's search engine marketing channels. Prior to joining BuyerZone, Steve worked as an analyst for Towers Perrin, a global professional services and consulting firm, and spent three years as a project manager for Next Jump, Inc., where he helped to develop and launch the company's primary business offering - a private-labeled rewards program for corporate employees.
Along the way, Steve also spent a year volunteering with City Year in Boston and worked in the Boston Celtics' front office marketing and operations department.
Steve has a B.A. with honors from University of Rochester and an M.B.A. with honors from Babson College.
Joe Charat
Director of Emerging Businesses
As Director of Emerging Businesses, Joe oversees BuyerZone’s development of new business concepts. The team’s focus is building innovative, scalable solutions that are quick to market and exceed customer expectations.
Since joining the BuyerZone team in early 2005, Joe has held a number of roles. He has managed the company’s online marketing efforts, its website conversion initiatives and has helped drive its expansion into new markets. He has also led various business development efforts for both buyer and supplier acquisition.
Prior to BuyerZone, Joe was a Project Manager at Ocean Farmers, an international seafood company.
Joe received his Bachelor of Arts with honors from Harvard. |
