BuyerZone Charitable Initiatives

BuyerZone is committed to making a lasting difference to the Metro-Boston area through a series of community based initiatives.

Some of the activities we participate in are:

• donating a day to a hands-on volunteer effort with the Greater Boston Food Bank
• hosting a group of children for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day
• holding a charity auction

Annual BuyerZone Charity Auction
As a way to continue community-based efforts beyond the holiday season, since 2001, BuyerZone has held an annual in-house charity auction from products bought by employees and donated by customers and service providers. All proceeds from the auction benefit local non-profit organizations. The amount of money we've raised has steadily increased year over year.

2006 - Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
"The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families."

2005 - Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program
"The mission of the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) is to assure access to quality health care for all homeless individuals and families in the greater Boston area."

2003 - Community Servings, Inc.
Community Servings is Greater Boston's free, hot, home-delivered meals program for people ill with AIDS, their dependents, and caregivers. Our goal is to serve all individuals with AIDS who request meals, as well as their needy caregivers and dependents. We are committed to serving a diverse client base and have worked hard to reach Greater Boston's traditionally disenfranchised and under-served populations.

2002 - Casa Myrna Vazquez
Casa Myrna Vazquez, Inc. is a community-based, multicultural organization dedicated to the eradication of violence against women and children. In working toward this goal, Casa Myrna Vazquez advocates for social justice in order to create a safe and violence free environment. Casa Myrna Vazquez is committed to the empowerment of women through education, leadership development and the provision of quality services that address the full scope of needs of battered women and children. Casa Myrna Vazquez embraces diversity with a focus on women and children of color, and the promotion of collaborative alliances that strengthen communities.

2001 - Rosie's Place
Rosie's Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women, offers both emergency and long-term assistance to women who have nowhere else to turn. Established in 1974, Rosie's Place is committed to welcoming each guest with respect and unconditional love. Rosie's Place accepts no government funds, and relies instead on committed volunteers and private supporters to accomplish its effective and innovative work.
