"I currently dictate using a digital recorder. My transcriptionist downloads my digital files and types directly into my EMR (Medamation). She logs onto my service via "GoToMyPc".Since it is an EMR, established patient's demographics, allergies, PMHx, drugs etc... are carried over from 1 encounter to the next -- often with little change. The bulk of my dictation is the H&P and Impression/Plan.My transcriptionist does a good job, but is not able to keep up -- particularly with tests results and surgical clearances, as she types "on the side" for me."
