What is the BuyerZone Request for Quotes (RFQ) service?

BuyerZone's RFQ service is a quick and easy way to request a product or service price quote from multiple suppliers. The RFQ process saves you valuable time and effort in researching and evaluating suppliers by allowing you to submit one simple form and get matched to the most appropriate suppliers for your purchase. After your RFQ has been submitted and verified, a select group of BuyerZone suppliers – whose offerings most closely match your needs – will follow up with you directly (usually within 24-48 hours) to discuss your upcoming purchase. You will also receive the contact information for each supplier should you decide to contact them directly.

How does the Request for Quotes service work?

  1. Select the purchase you wish to make from more than 150 categories.
  2. Complete a simple form detailing your purchasing requirements.
  3. Register your contact information with BuyerZone so we can verify your Request for Quotes before matching you with select suppliers.
  4. Receive an email from BuyerZone confirming that your Request for Quotes has been received, and informing you which suppliers you were matched to.
  5. Hear directly from your select group of matched suppliers within 24 hours (and often quicker). Or, call them directly to get the purchasing cycle started quicker.

Steps for submitting your Request for Quotes

In just a few steps, you can use BuyerZone's Request for Quotes service to better determine your purchasing needs, compare supplier proposals and negotiate with multiple suppliers directly.

  1. Choose a category. Select your product or service from the list of 150 (and growing) BuyerZone categories. If you need assistance researching or evaluating the particular product or service, we invite you to visit our online Business Purchasing Resource Center.
  2. Complete the Request for Quotes form. Our Request for Quotes forms guide you through a series of simple questions about the product or service you need. Remember, the more detail you provide in your answers, the easier it will be for suppliers to provide complete and accurate responses upfront, including pricing.
  3. Register. You must register with BuyerZone to submit a Request for Quotes. Registration requires that you provide your name, title, e-mail address, contact phone number, company name, size of company, location, and industry. You need only register at BuyerZone once and we'll store your information for all future RFQs. We verify your information to ensure our suppliers receive only qualified quote requests.   4. Submit your RFQ. Suppliers will contact you directly to provide your free price quotes and help answer any additional questions you have. We'll also provide contact information for your matched suppliers, so you can get in touch with them directly.

After you register through your first BuyerZone Request for Quotes process, you'll have an immediate opportunity to request additional, freeprice quotes in any of our more than 150 product and service categories. You can receive free price quotes for as many products as you'd like at any time, but we ask that you only submit Requests for Quotes for purchases that you are seriously considering in the near future. You should also note that submitting multiple Requests for Quotes at or around the same time will mean that you will receive phone calls and emails from several suppliers for each product or service category you select at once. This can be difficult to manage.

We encourage you to use BuyerZone's free Requests for Quotes service whenever you have a purchasing need for your organization throughout the year, and spread the word about the free service to others who may in charge of purchasing.

Why should I use BuyerZone's Request for Quotes service?

Your time is valuable. You don't want to have to waste hours, or even days, researching your purchase and then finding and evaluating different suppliers to make the right decision. Our Request for Quotes service takes just minutes to complete, and you can start negotiating with experienced suppliers within hours.

Why is the BuyerZone Request for Quotes service free?

Our supplier matching service is free to you, but our suppliers are charged a fee for every match they receive. It's a good investment for them since BuyerZone users are highly likely to make a purchase in the near future – and it allows us to keep the service free to buyers.

Can I request free price quotes for multiple products?

You can get free price quotes in any purchasing categories that are essential to your business. There's no limit! Do keep in mind that you will be matched to as many as six different suppliers for each product or service you select, so submitting many requests simultaneously could result in more phone calls than you can comfortably handle.

How many suppliers will I be matched to?

The number of suppliers you will be matched to for each Request for Quotes submission varies depending on the product or service you select, the details of your request, and your location. Quote requests are matched to an average of 3 to 5 suppliers, and a maximum of 6. We ask our suppliers to follow up within 1 to 2 business days.

Does BuyerZone match me with suppliers in my local area?

BuyerZone focuses on matching you with the most appropriate regional suppliers, as well as national suppliers who do business in your area. In the rare event that we can't find a regional supplier who best meets your needs, BuyerZone will match you to a group of national suppliers who will be more than happy to help you with your free price quote request.

How do I know which suppliers I was matched to?

Shortly after you submit your request for quote, you'll receive an email from BuyerZone outlining the suppliers we matched to your request, their profiles and ratings from other BuyerZone users, and their contact information.

Can I contact the suppliers directly?

Our suppliers love it when you contact them first! By introducing yourself to a supplier we matched you to, you can help the supplier customize your price quotes quicker and reduce your purchasing cycle.
