"Manage documents that are stored primarily in PDF and DOC format. Need the capability to organize in a hierarchical structure. Linking of related documents would be helpful."

"My department in an insurance company will begin receiving our policies and endorsements from our insurance carrier paperlessly (.pdf's, on Monday), therefore we need a storage system where we can also manage and record changes to documents. Our current plan is to build folders on a shared network drive for storage and retrieval. There must be a better way to handle this transition into a paperless office!"

"We are looking for Records and Information Management software specifically, but are also interested in looking at alternatives to two different document management softwares that we currently have. Their functionality overlaps, but neither has the full range of functionality we need with regards to security and records management. We are a global company and must take global records requirements into account."

"I am investigating report management software products to allow online viewing of reports, primarily (but not all) created by zOS mainframes. Some packages, (but not all) have archiving built in. My interest here is in archiving solutions for those packages without archiving. Both zOS and Unix based products may be applicable. Current reports to be handled total close to 1,000,000 pages per month. They include daily, weekly, monthly, annual, ad hoc reports with retention times of from 1 day to 20+ years. The archiving product should be able to handle changes from high speed disk to cheaper media to tape andwith retrieval capabilities from each. My project is for the state of California, and I am evaluating approaches and will be making recommendations. Next would be the start of the long state approval and procurement process. I am not seeking formal quotes, but estimated non-binding prices plus costs of implementation and maintenance. Future purchase would be thru forma RFP."
