"We are a specialty insurance brokerage for group voluntary, employee-pay-all benefit programs including health, life, dental, vision, etc. We have developed a single application process but it does require an initial premium payment from the employee prior to the start of group insurance coverage. New enrollees must submit their enrollment form and check/or money order for the first month's premium prior to their initial effective date of coverage. We have a logistical cut-off of the 20th of each month (to ensure data transfer to the insurance companies and correpsonding payment application) for any new coverage to become effective on the first day of the following month. Unfortunately, we have a number of newly eligible employees who procrastinate and call asking if they may e-mail or fax their enrollment form (includes their personal data and signature) and if we could possibly accept their initial premium payment via "check by phone" or debit card payment."
