Bonus
A monetary bonus is often given as an incentive or a corporate gift to employees. Although it
may seem impersonal, money is often well received.
Corporate gift
A corporate gift is something that can be given to a client or an employee as a reward, recognition,
or a holiday gift. It can be just about anything -- from money to a plaque.
Gift-giving policy
Check with your client's personnel department for any gift-giving policies that state what can
and can not be accepted as a gift. Breaking the policy risks offending the client.
Incentive
An incentive is a gift that employees work towards. Usually they will have to reach a certain
goal in order to win the incentive. An incentive can range from money to something as large as a trip.
Incentive program
Businesses often set up incentive programs in order to keep productivity and morale up in the
business. The basis of an incentive program is that an employee's hard work will be rewarded
with some sort of gift.
Personalization
It's important to try to personalize corporate gifts. It will make the recipient appreciate it
that much more. Personalization can be done by finding a gift that fits the hobby of the recipient,
or even by customizing the gift with the person's name.
Promotional product
A promotional product is used to promote your business. Also known as "tchotchkes," these items
usually have a logo and the business' name on them. They can be anything from T-shirts to stress
balls to mugs. Unlike a corporate gift, a promotional product isn't something to be given as
a reward or incentive.
Recognition
Recognition is the main reason to give a corporate gift. Recognizing the hard work of an employee,
or even a client, is thoughtful and will maintain a healthy relationship.
