DSP technology
Stands for digital sound processing, which is the technology behind full-duplex transmission. DSP chips analyze the sounds that are broadcast from the speaker and then this sound pattern is erased from the sounds picked up by the microphone. The result is an echo-free conversation.

Full-duplex
A type of sound transmission where both sides can speak at the same time. All recent tabletop models utilize full-duplex technology. However, there is no industry standard on how to measure full-duplex. Some models may be more "full-duplex" than others.

Half-duplex
A type of sound transmission that when the microphone is active, the speaker is shut off, preventing feedback. It disrupts the natural flow of two-way conversation since only one side can speak at a time.
