Real-world VoIP phone system rates from BuyerZone buyers

We regularly survey BuyerZone users to ask how their purchases went. We've used their responses to provide a sampling of actual prices paid for their Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone systems.

Several points to remember when pricing VoIP systems:

  • Installation may require an upgrade of your computer network (LAN, or local area network.) This can potentially add thousands of dollars to your overall costs.
  • One of the main benefits of VoIP systems is their ability to unite remote offices: branches and even telecommuters can get access to all the features of the phone system. However, simply installing a VoIP system does not give you the ability to make free phone calls outside your business.
  • Plan for the future. Buying a system with just enough capacity for your current usage can limit you in the future, so it's wise to consider your plans for growth before choosing a system.

Smaller systems
These systems range from 5 to 15 extensions. Note the additional expense for the first two businesses who needed to connect multiple offices.
