"Do your homework so you can ask questions. Ask for explanations of terms and processes with which you are not familiar. Make sure you understand what you are buying. If the person with whom you are speaking can not answer you in a manner that helps you learn, move on. The only way you can be satisfied and comfortable with your purchase is that you have the knowledge you need."

"If you buy a steel building, build your own front to save money. You can build it to match your house or just create your own design. You can do this a lot cheaper than buying the factory front."

What's really going into your building?

"Insist of a full description (with specs), of all materials going into your steel building. Many companies say they can't give this to you until you give a deposit and the details go the "engineering." This is not so. It's like saying "we'll decide what goes into your building, after we have your non-refundable deposit." How can you compare quotes without this info?"

Get the price for everything you need

"When looking for a metal building be very careful to include all your desired options such as doors, windows, building base, colors, ventilation, etc., before you ask for a price. Generally, the ad prices are for only a shell with no front or back wall. Also you should check some local contractors regarding the price of the slab or foundation. It was a long road getting all the information together so that I could make the best choice. Much luck on your hunt."
