Mie-Yun Lee Appointed President of BuyerZone
Internet pioneer and BuyerZone founder returns to lead online marketplace for business purchasing
WALTHAM, MA (January 21, 2009) BuyerZone (www.BuyerZone.com), the leading online marketplace for business purchasing, announced today that its founder, Mie-Yun Lee has been appointed President. BuyerZone is a division of Reed Business Information (www.reedbusiness.com), North America’s largest business-to-business publisher.
Widely recognized for her achievements as an Internet pioneer, published author and purchasing expert, Lee founded BuyerZone in 1992, and for 16 years served on its executive team, holding management roles in each area of the organization, including technology, business development, marketing and content. After BuyerZone was acquired by Reed Business Information (RBI), Lee served a one-year term as Vice President, New Business Development for RBI to help develop online growth strategies for several of its publications, including Variety. Lee’s return to BuyerZone and her appointment to President follow the departure of former President Sam Zales.
Lee has been named one of the Top 25 Women on the Web, as well as one of 11 “Women to Watch” in business-to-business media. A recipient of an Asian Women in Business Entrepreneurial Achievement Award and a Working Woman Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, she is the author of the book The Essential Business Buyer’s Guide, and the nationally syndicated column, “Savvy Business Shopper.” Her articles have appeared in top business publications nationwide, including BusinessWeek and Entrepreneur.

Before founding BuyerZone, Lee held strategic consulting and entrepreneurial positions at a Boston-based strategy consulting firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University.
